one clark & lois cap per episode: 4x01 crusade

I have so much love for this scene. As much as I adore the back-and-forth between Lois and amnesia!Clark in the cornfield and later the hospital, this is the first time Clark Kent really meets Lois Lane, and the fact that his first words to her are ‘you’re not alone’ kills me.  This is also the first time since her introduction earlier in the episode that we’ve seen Lois less than perfectly composed - she’s high-energy, yes, but always holds her own. Now she’s pouring her heart out to a tombstone and Clark just wants to comfort her, because he’s Clark. But Lois can’t let him, because they don’t even know each other yet, and because she’s Lois. So it’s a quip and a smirk instead of a deep conversation, wipe away those tears, this girl isn’t comfortable with deep conversations in graveyards. It throws Clark off-balance - this entire episode, essentially, is Lois throwing people off-balance. But he still remembers everything about her even though the last few days are a little jumbled - Chloe’s cousin, nicorette addiction, can’t stand uncomfortable silences - and the only other thing he described in detail was how it felt to fly. And Clark surprises Lois too, with phrases like ‘I can’t explain my actions over the past few days’ and inviting her to stay at his house with strictly pure intentions. Neither of them know what to make of each other yet, but they want to figure each other out. The flirting is delicious, their decision to work together on solving Chloe’s apparent murder the most natural thing in the world. And so it begins.

“Well, I’m just not comfortable with uncomfortable silence and you’re not exactly keeping up with your end of the conversation.”

My God, I think I’m in love. I’m not sure where they found Erica Durance, but I swear to god, she’s channeling Margot Kidder.

Jeph Loeb and Mark Beeman found Erica Durance out of the hundreds of other women who auditioned for Lois. They still hadn’t found anyone only days before they shot “Crusade.”. She had only a few days to prepare. Tom Welling came back a few days early to meet her and help her. He had a full beard and supposedly looked like a “crazy fisherman”. But they liked each other right away and it worked out. The next time she met him he was naked on the set. If you like her now…wait till you get to the later seasons. Have fun :)

You’re not alone.

14 DAYS OF SUPERMAN/CLARK AND LOIS LANE
Day 3 - The moment that made you fall in love with them - Okay, okay I know what you’re thinking. Seriously? That’s what made you fall in love with them? Well what do you expect, I run a blog about how sexy Clois is. But all kidding aside. I think it’s perfect that in the Pilot of LnC, Lois can’t resist Clark’s hot bod (I mean who could). She gets all tongue tied and checks out her future husband for good measure. God I love Teri and Dean. Then in Smallville’s case (this has to be the most fantastic of introductions for Lois and Clark) Its pretty much Lois catching her soulmate buck naked, and taking a good hard look at Clark Jr. as she refers to it in Gone. HAHA I mean hey who cares about formal introductions, just take a look at the goods.
